Fun Drum to Bring Light

July 29th, 2010

Drum LightLove music? Love to play a drum? Well, I’m not actually a music lover, but even I sometimes do like to tap on a drum, that’s quite interesting, and if that’s going to light up my room, then it’ll be like awesome! Thanks to the Drum Light, now let’s play the drum for light! Wow…

What would happen when you tap the drum? You’ll hear pleasant music? Maybe. Or possibly you’ll see a light turns on. Designed for music enthusiasts, the Drum Light aims to delight the user with light rather than music. So every time you tap the drum, the light will turn on and with another tap, it then turns off. But you needn’t worry that the Drum Light will be activated by other sound, because the light also comes with a sensitivity control to manage the noises.

This is fun, and nice bright light too. What’s more, the drum can be turned around so you can manage you light to face different directions, and that’s quite practical, love it, tap fun!

“Slide Eat”, Eat Fun

July 27th, 2010

Slide Eat Lunch TableEating is a big issue to everyone, and it’s even bigger issue if you’ve got kids at home! Because kids will not eat as we would like them to even when they’re really hungry, they’re kids they want to play all the time, so we got to find some nice toys for them to play when eat, and that’s hard. So when you find this “Slide Eat” Lunch Table, all things will be just fine!

Winning entry at LG HI-MACS European Design Award, the “Slide Eat” Lunch Table may not be the best furniture for kids, but it indeed looks cool and quite different from common furniture. Firstly, the new table features a curvy design to take the place of regular sharp edges, keeping the kids from getting hurt. Another point you will be interested is the built-in holders for containing plates, glasses and cutlery, and we bet that would help a lot to avoid the spilling of food.

And more importantly, the table is also a slide for kids! What an creation, eat and play at the same time, totally made for naughty kids! The only thing is that I’m afraid this is going to take too much space in a small home, so is there a solution to that?

Hide Your Table

July 25th, 2010

wall mount tablesEvery home needs some creativity, that’s the idea of life, and that’s the fun of householding. So as we can never get enough room at home, we’re always looking for ways to make good use of our limited space at home, and that’s why these interesting tables are made for you. Look! My tables can fold into the wall!

Tables are needed furniture but they’re usually also bulky, so you have to dedicate quite a large amount of space to them. And that’s why tables and especially the long tables are often tough to fit in small apartments. Except these tables created by Ochre. The designers solved that problem by folding the tables into the wall when they’re not in use, therefore offering you a spacious room for other activities. When you want a table, just pull them out of the wall and you can use them as a dining table or a work bench.

Hah…This is really fun, and I’d totally love to have tables like this! Do you?

Dry Your Clothes Inside At Bad Weathers

July 23rd, 2010

Radiator RackPersonally I love rainy days, it’s comfortable and beautiful. Make a cup of tea, grab a nice, and sit beside the window, watch the rain falling down from sky high, this is really interesting. But with the fun comes along the problem – I can’t get my clothes dry in those wet days, so I really want the sun to come out often! But with the help of the Radiator Rack, I can now enjoy the rainy days even more.

I don’t like winters in Britain—the sun seldom comes out and the clothes never dries. But I would change my mind if there’s a radiator rack in my room. Designed by Keith Xianrong Zheng, the device takes inspiration from the fact that people usually use radiators to dry clothes in the winters, but features more convenience and efficiency than ordinary radiators. And you can use the rack to store your clothes when the heating function is not needed.

How do you feel about this? It is beautiful, and it is useful!

July 06th, 2010

Plus One Shelving AdditionI don’t know if it’s just me, or that everyone has too much things that need to be stored at hand. Well, if  you feel the same, then you might find a huge book shelf very helpful, but still don’t you feel that a bare book shelf’s a little dull?

The “Plus One” Shelving Addition will add some fun to your book shelf, and it is really versatile for storing some little things at hand.

“Plus One” is a unique shelving addition designed by Matthias Ries. It merely consists of two simple parts—a five-sided case and a U-shaped metal hook, but can be used in various ways depending on the items you want to store in it. Made out of walnut or maple, the sleek addition will surely give your dull bookcase a refreshing look.

So, how do you like it? A little moving storage system that is useful and fun.

Play for Work with “Duplex”

June 30th, 2010

Duplex Multiuse WorkspaceOnce I saw this on a t-shirt, it says “Born for fish, Forced to work”. Well, maybe not always has to be fish, but I really find most people around me don’t love to work, maybe that’s why we always say Play for work. So, here today we’ve got you something to help getting work really playful, the Duplex Multiuse Workspace is like the best workspace ever.

“Duplex” is a modular workspace designed by Sophie Kirkpatrik and its main features include an adjustable hood and three legs. The adjustable hood allows you to change the “Duplex” into different shapes according to your varied needs: you can mount the hood to create a private space or lower it down to extend the workspace. And the “three legs”, one less than that of common tables, gives the furniture a unique looking, making it quite eye-catching in any given situations, but of course as sturdy as those with four legs.

Duplex Multiuse Workspace 1A little more privacy, or more fresh air, it’s now really up to you! Hopefully you like it.

Time for Picnic

June 27th, 2010

OASIS Folding Table and ChairsEvery summer is joyful, but this summer must be even more memorable because of the World Cup Match. Every picnic is playful, but this summer picnic will be even more enjoyable and fun because of this OASIS Folding Table and Chairs. They will totally make picnic much easier.

The 2010 summer is wonderful enough to be memorable—we sit under the open sky, breath in the fresh air, and watch the live telecasting of the world cup match with numerous people. And of course we all use the OASIS 2-Person Folding Table and Chairs. Shaped like a small suitcase that measures 23 3/4″ x 15 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ (L x H x D), the furniture actually can be expanded into 31 1/2″ Length x 23 5/8″ Width x 25 9/16″ Height, especially perfect for camping and picnic.

I love foldable furnitures, and they’re even more adorable when in outdoor use. Because apparently it is more convenient carrying a suitcase other than a table and two chairs, right.

Fun Chair

June 23rd, 2010

SchaukelwagenEveryone wants a rocking chair, for it just feels so happy to sit and rock in a rocking chair. I still remember when I was young I used to love rocking in my grandma’s old chair and I actually enjoyed the “ga-ga” wooden noise. On the other hand, you know what, every kid wants a play car to sit in and play car games. So if you have this Schaukelwagen, it means you have a rocking chair for yourself and a play car for your kid at the same time.

Well, well, the “Schaukelwagen” concept has already existed for more than 50 years before it finally came into real products. But fortunately we can see them visually here at myhouseholdapplices.com. Designed by Hans Brockhage and Erwin Andra, the unique furniture consists of only a birch frame, a molded plywood seat and four wheels, but allows for double duty as both a rocking chair and a kid’s play car.

I totally love the fun chair, and I would really love to get one of my own.

A New Chair Everyday

June 21st, 2010

Darwin ChairI love chairs, cute interesting chairs that offer me a rest and a nice looking at home too. As everyday we may have different agendas and different moods, I sometimes want a different look of my home too, and at that point I would love to have a different char, so that’s probably how we get too many chairs at home.

Everybody loves new items, and that’s maybe an important reason why we keep on shopping and shopping… But with the ‘Darwin Chair’, you no longer need to buy new chairs. Designed by Stefan Sagmeister, the chair is constructed from a free swinging structure, covered with more than 200 sheets of prints. As the top sheets get dirty or boring, you simply need to rip it off and then you’ll have a new chair!

So, now you may each day own a new chair with this innovative ‘Darwin Chair’. Although I’d love the chair more if the sheets are reusable, still this is a really nice chair for any home since it has so many ‘faces’.
