Dry Your Clothes Inside At Bad Weathers

July 23rd, 2010

Radiator RackPersonally I love rainy days, it’s comfortable and beautiful. Make a cup of tea, grab a nice, and sit beside the window, watch the rain falling down from sky high, this is really interesting. But with the fun comes along the problem – I can’t get my clothes dry in those wet days, so I really want the sun to come out often! But with the help of the Radiator Rack, I can now enjoy the rainy days even more.

I don’t like winters in Britain—the sun seldom comes out and the clothes never dries. But I would change my mind if there’s a radiator rack in my room. Designed by Keith Xianrong Zheng, the device takes inspiration from the fact that people usually use radiators to dry clothes in the winters, but features more convenience and efficiency than ordinary radiators. And you can use the rack to store your clothes when the heating function is not needed.

How do you feel about this? It is beautiful, and it is useful!

Toy Guardian to Guard Toys for Your Kids

July 20th, 2010

Toy GuardianHave a kid at home? Never managed to clear up the piles of toys that was left here and there all over the house? It really is hard being a parent, and I’m here to help! Yes, with this cute dog shaped Toy Guardian you kids will love to put their toys away by themselves happily. Amazing right? Let’s how this works.

Tzung-Yu Lu has designed the Toy Guardian as a new alternative to toy boxes. It is a monster on wheels, moving around the rooms to “eat” up all the toys and return them to the kids when they’re needed. And still, the box itself is a cute toy!

So now you know why your kids would love to do the clear job for you, hah… In case you don’t know, the Toy Guardian is actually a 2010 IDEA Design Winner. I really love the cute design, much better than a tame toy box!

Safety Cutter, A Safer Knife

July 20th, 2010

Safety CutterAlmost everyday in our life we need a nice knife to do some household stuff, but unfortunately housewives are usually not that good with knives, we can easily cut ourselves. Although this would barely ever be a serious injury, it does still hurts and we really want to protect ourselves from that, so this is why I’m here today: To bring you the Safety Cutter to help you cut safely!

Only the God knows how much I needed the Safety Cutter—I’ve had more than three finger-cuts on my left thumb, even though I tried to use the knives as carefully as possible. But the Safety Cutter will take care of your fingers. It features a knife that is attached to a ruler, which not only helps you to cut the sheet effectively, but protects your fingers at the same time. Apparently the Safety Cutter wouldn’t change my past, but it surely will change your future.

With a ruler attached to it, this will be more safer and more convenient to cut a straight line, and you get an additional ruler anyway, isn’t that just great?!

No More Falling

July 18th, 2010

Clever HookIt is indeed because of fall these little gadgets we hold at home that made our house a sweet home, and made our life more comfortable and convenient. And the largest quantity of gadgets we hold at home? Hooks, definitely hooks, we really need them to carry many things.

Hooks are then indeed very useful tools but sometimes they could be quite annoying, just not that useful to keep towels, jackets or raincoats from falling off. So sculptor and engineer Stefan Bennedahl offered the Clever Hook with a self-grabbing mechanism, to pinch everything in place. It works in a way like this: you hang a towel onto the lower “arm”, the weight of the towel then causes the top “arm” to come down and grab the item tightly. The mechanism is designed to hold up to 40 lbs, and the heavier the item is, the tighter it grabs. To remove, you simply need to lift up the item, and the top arm will retract.

Well, the idea is simple but really useful, this is the kind of idea we need in life! Don’t you think so?

The Safest Power Strip Ever!

July 13th, 2010

Waterproof Power StripAs we now have so many electronic appliances at home,  and also we get new ones often, so the plugs on our wall can never be enough, nor in the right place we needed, so power strips are very necessary to our daily life. And for our own safety and especially for our kids’ safety, we have to make sure that we buy real safe power strip.

As for what is a safe power strip, a safe power strip should at least conform to the following two requirements: electric shock resistant and water resistant. Therefore the Wet Circuits Power Strip is just a safe power strip. It is designed to work under water, so you will neither get shocked when carelessly sticking your wet fingers into the holes nor cause burns if accidentally spilling water or coffee onto the strip. Moreover, the power strip will still be safe even if you stick a metal object into the outlet when the device is operating under running water!

I actually have no idea that power strips can be waterproof, the Wet Circuits is really the safest power strip I’ve ever seen!

Double Duty Fork

July 11th, 2010

Knock, knife and forkWe use knife and fork everyday to have our meals, and most of us are really used to this knife + fork thing, however someone are apparently no fond of this, so they come up with an idea of combine the two together! Yes, let’s see the Knork.

Personally I don’t think it’s a nice idea to combine the knife and fork into one eating utensil, because you’ll still have to use the other hand to hold the food while one of the hands is busy with the Knork. So why not just leave those two utensils in different hands? But for people who love double-duty items, the Knork is indeed attractive. It contains no sharp edges, so you needn’t worry that you’ll accidentally cut your mouth open.

So, this is it. It is really a nice fork if you just love double duty things, but for people like me, usual forks are just good enough.
