A EuroBike Gold Award Winer, the Flax Fiber Bicycle

September 24th, 2010

World’s First Flax Fiber BicycleYeah, I’ve always wanted a quite unique bicycle, although so many we’ve introduced this one has a very unique quality that attracts me – It is the World’s First Flax Fiber Bicycle! Yes, it is made of flax fiber, the material we’d love to wear on ourselves, it is now wrapping the bicycle too. Can’t believe it? Check the story out.

Though flax fiber is widely used for suits, have you ever thought of making a bike with the same material? Actually, the world’s first bike made from flax fiber has already won EuroBike Gold Award. Built from biodegradable flax fibers, the bike is durable and lightweight, and it performs well at absorbing and dampening road vibrations. It’s also built with a battery-free lighting system that is powered by a dynamo in the front hub, making it a stylish and eco ride.

I love beautiful designs, I love innovative ideas, and everything becomes so cheerful when it’s eco-friendly! The flax fiber is absolutely adorable, I love it totally!

Transformable Tricycle

September 05th, 2010

Foldable Electronic TricycleI used to think that tricycles are just for fun, you know, because of the three-wheels design it can’t really be so convenient as a bicycle. However, incredible designers have made a big difference with this Foldable Electronic Tricycle. This is really an innovative design, as convenient as a bike, and as roomy as a tricycle, whichever you want it to be! Cool.

Stylish and compact, this electronic vehicle can easily shift between a bike and a tricycle via simple folding, so as to ensure you much more convenience. As a result, you can not only guide your vehicle through the crowded streets with ease but create enough space for your items whenever you go on a huge shopping spree.

This is totally cool, right? Not that the transformable idea is great, but that the whole design is quite beautiful too, I really love it, and also it is a very practical design.

Cute Bicycles to Come

August 26th, 2010

Sergio Garcia’s TricyclesBicycle is a very good transportation, it is eco-friendly, cute and good exercise too! But as women always are, I just can’t help feeling that the conventional bicycles are not very beautiful, and youth want something different so badly. So I guess that’s partly why the Sergio Garcia’s tricycles are made for at the first place.

Honestly, we haven’t seen any fantastic bicycle designs for quite a long time. And now it’s the right time to show you what the US-based artist Sergio Garcia has created for the kids, and for us too. One is a frame-bending tricycle, which uses a round metal to connect the seat and the handlebar. And the other tricycle has two handlebars!

Really interesting work indeed, but how could a kid safely ride such weird tricycles? Maybe only the young riders know. But they look totally cool, the kids will definitely love them!

Run on 3 Wheels

June 15th, 2010

Three-wheeled Peugeot VelociteCars are quite a very important part of our life, we actually depend on it to take us to our destinations almost everyday. Cars are a very convenient transportation, but lately we hear more and more about global warming and other environmental problems that was largely caused by our cars, so we now seek some more eco-friendly cars to make peace with nature.

Then this Three-wheeled Peugeot Velocite might be a really good choice to maintain the balance between protecting nature and keep travel conveniently.

Now if you know three-wheeled cars, they’re usually ugly and not very eco-friendly, then this one is no conventional three-wheeled car.

Developed by Juan Carlos for the year 2020, the “Peugeot Velocite” has borrowed a cool shape of the sports cars but actually runs on three wheels, making the electric vehicle different from all others. It is also eco-friendly, powered by low-resistance electric motor and offers zero emission. When running downhill, the Velocite will recharge its onboard batteries automatically. Plus, the concept still features a motorcycle-like suspension setup with a single swing-arm for easy controls.

I actually love the cool shape, and the small size is quite adorable and useful. This must be the coolest three-wheeled car ever. Too bad this thing is just a concept now, and obviously we have to wait for years to see this hit the market.

Concept Bike Made of Plastic

May 27th, 2010

Izzy Plastic Urban Bike ConceptToday we’re going to talk about bikes, the little two-wheeled transportation we love. As we all know, the conventional bicycles are made of metals (like iron, steel, or some others), as cars are basically made of metals too, so we then assumed that bikes have to be made of metals, other wise they wouldn’t be strong enough to holder us. Well, now is the time to change your mind, because the Izzy Plastic Urban Bike is on the way.

“Made of plastic” is not the only characteristic of the Izzy Plastic Urban Bike, a collaborative project between Omer Sagiv and Uri Sadeh. One would expect a fragile vehicle but the bike is actually quite firm to bear the weight of two adults (quite impressive huh?). Best of all, its frame is recyclable, which means that you can have the damaged frame replaced at the store. To top off the cool concept, the bike also incorporates 2 free standing locking systems, three-dimensional illumination, and the integrated rear suspension.

But does the “completely plastic design” also means the bikes could be easily burned to ashes? Hopefully not.

Anyway, the bike looks great and the recyclable plastic is a meaningful nice design. Let’s just wait to see this bike hit the market soon, and looking for some more details.

Cute Mini Car Does Good To Protect The Earth

April 12th, 2010

"Bug" eco-friendly concept mini carWith the Earth Day driving closer and closer, the voice of “saving the world” becomes louder and clearer, I guess this is the time we should really be more enthusiastic over these eco-friendly projects as a consumer or a manufacturer alike! On the other hand, cars, the transportation we use almost everyday, is mainly responsible the the global warming problem. As we all aware of that, we’re really glad to see the eco-friendly project in the car industry gradually taking progress. The little “Bug” here looks really nice!

As the cities get more crowded and polluted, numerous automakers and designers are trying to tackle the problem of moving people around efficiently while not using materials that are harmful to the environment. And so is the Brazilian designer Ricardo Fedrizzi, who has recently sent in the images of his “Bug” concept mini car. It is a two-seater auto that is designed to go on a charge, making it a zero emission car for the city. Another point worth noting is the recyclable and renewable materials used to make the body of the car, which greatly reduces the vehicle’s weight. Besides, Fedrizzi’s concept also features an aerodynamic shape to maximize its performance.

Pity that it is only a concept at present and we may have to wait for days (if luckily, you know sometimes it takes months, even years)to see the practical car hit the market. But still this is a big progress, I’m really looking forward to the real one.

Ahhh, By Bicycle…

March 22nd, 2010

Carbon Fiber Electric BikeDo I have to say this: I Love Bicycle! Living in a modern world like this we go everywhere in our little car, it’s understandably more convenient, faster, but meanwhile, we lost lots of fun and some exercise too. So I do love bicycle, that’s definitely not just a big toy for kids (though the truth is most bike users are kids or professional athlete). The transportation is admitted not as faster, but speed really isn’t that important compared to a healthier and more vigorous lifestyle!

This is one wisely designed gorgeous bicycle! If you need an electrical bicycle, or a lightweight bicycle and you might still need it to be eco-friendly? Well, what you want is rightly the Carbon Fiber Electric Bike by Ralf Kittmann. The concept bike adopts the carbon fiber—which is highly conductive—to take the place of wires as a power distribution network. So when the electricity is generated from the special electric installation built inside the frame, it will be transferred to power the motors between the rims and the lights. That energy will also be used to drive the system to turn the wheel, by using a counter-turning axel in lieu of gears and chains.

OK, this is it. Do you love it? It’s beautiful and elegant, and also eco-friendly, the only flaw I can find is that this can’t work manually, so if the electricity went out we’ll be stuck, and we’ll lose a lot of exercise while using this instead of a traditional bicycle. Nonetheless, sitting on a bicycle seat is already more exercise than sitting in your comfortable little car, and in addition, we can got much more fresh air on the way!Carbon Fiber Electric Bike in use

Future Car concept by Sergio Luna

January 26th, 2010

Sergio LunaCars are very important in our daily life now, for we really need that transportation to live in a city these days. Go through history you can certainly see the changes in car design. But what the future car would look like? We all have our own picture in mind, but still that’s the question no one can really tell until it actually comes out eventually.

Nevertheless, many manufacturers are trying to show us their idea. Here’a preview of one future car style with this Sergio Luna’s ‘2028 One’ car. Coming from the Michelin Challenge Design 2010, ‘2028 One’ is a single-seater for inter-city transportation. Based on the Segway mechanism, the lightweight vehicle is compact enough for an easy driving. Though it adopts a joystick, the car could also be entirely controlled by a computer.

Well, is this your idea of how the personal vehicle would look like in the future? Anyway, looks fun and beautiful line, but I really concerned about my luggages or shopping stuff, seems too small for those. Somehow I’ve got a really weird feeling that if they make a toy car like this, it’ll definitely sell! I would love to buy one!

The coolest Cycles ever!

January 13th, 2010

red motocycleWant to have some fun? Got a little tired of cars? Loved motocycles? Here comes the coolest cycles ever, absolutely eye-poping! Ready to roll!!

Ferocious red charging Bulls, black Jaguars! These familiar images we usually see on Jaguar Cars or Red Bull cans as their logos, have been incorporated into a functional piece of machinery. Believed by their designer Barend, those impressive logos should be emphasized more since they’re the most effective way to interpret the vehicles. How do you like them?

black motocycle

With these charming bodies and  brilliant colors they’ll definitely become the most charming scene on street! Yet they’re still concept machines that aren’t in production. Hopefully we’ll see these vivid creatures on street soon!
