Flat Light on Your Wall

June 03rd, 2010

Poster LampI love cute household gadgets, and among all those I love interesting lamps the most, for they literally bring light with fun. We’ve introduced many cute lamps here before, some of them are very unconventional, but never as odd as this one, it is called the Poster Lamp — a real flat light!

Do look carefully and closely, because even your own eyes are deceiving you. It is not an ordinary poster merely used for decorating your room. Actually, it is an exquisite Flat Light Poster, something that makes installing a wall-mounted lamp much easier than ever before. Put forward by Finn Magee as an exciting concept in 2007, the Flat Light Poster has just now been produced in a limited run of 50 lamps, priced at $195 each.

As I do you might wander where is this interesting idea come from, then let’s see how the designer Finn Magee says:

“Flat Light was the result of borrowing an Anglepoise task light from college. In 2007, I set up the lamp on my desk at home and was amazed at how it lent an atmosphere of productivity and efficiency to the room… I wondered if just an image of an ordinary task light would be enough to create this atmosphere. This led to Flat Light, which has been exhibited at the Royal College of Art Summer show in 2007 and as part of Designers in Residence at the Design Museum, London”

Well, I would love to have a poster that actually shines! Do you?

Interesting Bulb that Lights Up Each Other

May 18th, 2010

Infectious LightI love cute lights, they give my life not just light but also many fun and cuteness. So I’ve introduced quite some very interesting lights in my earlier posts, and today I am going to show you these new cute infectious lights, this is actually many cute bulbs being together and makes a great and funny light.

Infectious Light is a modular lighting system made up of several battery-run light bulbs that could sense and react to each other. These bulbs gotta light up one by one when you bring the “mother” light closer to the “baby” lights, and the project takes the very name “Infectious Light” simply from that act.

The designer has also created a kind of luminous tree for these soft spheres, to solve the problem of charging.

Infectious Light 1Too bad this thing doesn’t come with any price details, but we’ve already seen that these stylish and cute lights would give your homes a refreshing look.

So, how do you feel about this fabulous light tree? Well, I think it is really incredibly cute, definite want to get one as soon as this hits the market.Infectious Light 2
