DIY: Funny Shoe Racks Made Of Drain Pipes

April 11th, 2010

DIY Shoe Racks using Drain PipesLife is colorful and DIY is playful, and this time I’m going to tell you about how to craft beautiful shoe racks using drain pipes. You know we never have enough shoes and shoe cases are always too big and ugly, so maybe nice looking shoe racks can have your shoes stay organized and make a nice view of your house.

Creative shoe racks may give an eye-pleasing look to your living spaces, but they usually cost you too much money. However, the rack designed by Jost Litzen is an innovative storage system that eliminates the need of purchasing expensive shoe racks. The best part is that, what the rack finally looks like is all up to you! It is quite easy to create: simply prepare several tubes, form them into certain shapes using ropes and then done!

And if you are not so sure about the ropes, you can use glues at the same time to help organizing these pipes. The best part, you can always enlarge it for more shoes. So, enjoy the DIY fun!

Craft Mug

February 01st, 2010

VanGogh MugUsually, we love elegant nice things in our life. We just want everything to be beautiful and graceful, but however, sometimes we do appreciate crafts which are usually feels a little rough. Our censorious eyes are strangely attracted by these rough crafts, mainly for its creative energy and the ideas constructed inside its shape, I guess.

And here’s this a little creepy mug, it was named “Dear Van Gogh” mug after the famous artist Van Gogh. However frankly, the mug has nothing to do with Van Gogh but the concept is rather intriguing. Designed by Mike Mak, the Dear Van Gogh is a silicon mug that features an ear-shaped flexible handle. The handle feels realistic and could be twisted or pulled hard as you want.

It looks really funny, even a little creepy, and the ear looks so real that reminds me of VanGogh’s cut down left ear, which I know is very scary and kind of too much bloody for water drinking! But the idea of twisting it sounds like a perfect way to release your anger, and that feels quite VanGogh-ish! So if I may, I think the real VanGogh would love the “Dear Van Gogh” mug, if only he had that chance.VanGogh twist Mug

Jonathan AdlerWe’re used to holiday ornaments that is colorful and shining, they feels more like holiday indeed. But I’ve always think they’re too shining and bling, just not exquisite enough for a fancy party, and not so upscaled for a really elegant lady, therefore they can’t be good gifts for ladies! However, here come these cool little animals, exquisite and interesting!

If you’re still trying to find the perfect gift for that special someone on your list? We’d like to suggest the collectible Holiday Ornaments from America’s favorite potter, Jonathan Adler.
