Keep a Firefly for The Sake of A Romantic Summer Night

June 10th, 2010

Firefly Nest LampSummer is here, and I can still recall when I was young, I used to lie down on the grass with my families in summer, and then when the night comes I was always happy to see those little shinning bugs flying around. I even see them flying outside my bedroom window, and I used to fall asleep watching these lights.

However after I grew I moved to the city, and I barely see them ever after, so I actually miss them, and I miss my childhood too I guess. Well, anyway, now we have this Firefly’s Nest Lamp to hold some fireflies inside our urban house, thanks to science.

Also known as “Geometric Romance”, the lamp from Tommaso Gecchelin aims to bring you back to the romantic summer nights when the fireflies were flying around you. Yaps, romance, that’s this is all about, that’s the most important point you may find with the lamp, and another feature the device has is high tech. It is filled with electronic fluid that is moved by a pump, and powered by a wireless system located in the base. Moreover, you can touch the lamp to change the color of the light! That’s awesome!

Those summer nights I really miss. The lamp obviously can’t bring all the fun and happiness those fireflies have brought me, but they might be a quite nice comfort, right?

The Light of A Flower

June 01st, 2010

Blooming LampIn a whole year, I find most people love spring the best, generally because of all these beautiful flowers out there. Yes, we all love flowers, for they’re beautiful, they smells good, and they represent nature and life. So we sometimes grow flowers inside our house too, but flowers can’t bloom forever, although we understand that’s how it works in nature, but still we feel sad when they’re gone.

So then there comes lots of artificial flowers that never wither and fall, and among all those I love this “Bloom Lamp” the most. Just see how light comes out of a flower, and how a lamp blooms!

Those who love the nature would love everything that reminds them of the wonderful creations of the nature, too. And that’s possibly the main reason why we love the “Bloom Lamp” designed by Patrick Jouin. Yaps, the lamp has simulated a beautiful flower—when in use, it gradually transforms from a bud to a blooming flower to release the light; and when not in use, the lamp then closes its petals to regain the shape of the bud.

Well, I’d love to have such a “bright” flower at home, do you?

Little piggies: the cutest lamp

January 13th, 2010

cute lampWe do need light in our life, so lamps are very important household appliances. We need various of lamps for different parts of our home, so now, for those who loved little romance in life, we’ve found you this cute little lamp. Let the lovely piggy light your in the darkness…

Who will leave those ugly spiral-shaped energy-saving lamps directly in the air since they have had a hard time designing and fixing their houses? At least I won’t. But after you see the Pigtail Lamp showed here, you may change your mind and would love to get some for your own home. The designer tactfully associated the ESL’s spiral shape with the pigtail, and finally came up with these lovely lamps.

Really attractive, Right? Bring them home!
