Save Water for The Poor Little Fish

September 06th, 2010

Poor Little Fish BasinWe used to think that the natural resources like water is inexhaustible, so we barely pay any attention to saving these resources. But after generations we’ve finally learned that these resources are actually limited, and our waste has made the situation quite tough now, so it is very urgent for us to save it, for us and for the earth. And this Poor Little Fish Basin can do a good job remind you of saving water all the time.

No one needs water so much as the fish which would lose their lives without water. So we people are asked to save water for fish. Designed by Yan Lu, the “Poor Little Fish” basin consists of a fish bowl and a basin, and the fish may lose its water when you’re washing your hands. But when the water stops, the water level in the bowl then goes back to the same level. As a result, to keep the fish alive, you need to save water.

But actually, water in the fish bowl is not really changing as the designer has built another pipeline for the tap so that you’ll use clean and pure water rather than the water for raising fish. Feel a little relieved huh?

Although you’re not literally consuming the water for raising the fish, but it looks like you’re, and if you take the question deeper you may find yourself right in the place of taking water away from fishes, so I believe this Fish Basin can really help you saving the water, it’ll keep reminding you to do so. Besides it is always happy to keep some pets at home, and fishes don’t need too much attention.

iSave Faucet, Start Saving for The Future

March 07th, 2010

iSave faucetThe world is our home, take care of it! It has been a long time since we aware of the environmental problems and we’ve been told to take actions to protect the world, but somehow things continued getting worse even though we thought we’ve done the things right as we can! The truth is we’re trying hard enough, these little bad habits we ignored actually are very important. The key to this thing is to take actions start from the very little things!

It’s quite good to see that this green concept is really making people think about the dooms day. The urgency, restlessness, fuel prices rising can be seen. Go green is really the call of the hour, and here is a nice product to be looked upon – iSave faucet by Reamon Yu, a design so smart and efficient that it was recently chosen as a runner-up in the Metropolis Magazine Next Generation awards. It is a LED display for faucets and showers to make users aware of their water usage, and then make them more inclined to save water.

iSave faucet sketchThe gadget can easily attach to your sink or showerhead to provide a digital readout of the amount of water that was being used in a shower. Another exciting feature is – it doesn’t need any external energy to keep it running rather energy is generated through a turbine which activates as the water pressurizes it. Looks aren’t bad either! So next time you use water – be careful, either buy this gadget or try curbing your water consumption. I really think this idea is genius! Let’s all start saving for the future!
